Hi, Matt with etrailer. If you have a 2023 Ford Bronco and you wanna carry those heavy items like a generator or something you just don't want in the back of your Bronco but you want something that's gonna play nicely with that spare tire, then the Mount-n-Lock GennyGo cargo carrier is gonna be a great option for you. So let's check it out. And to really show you that space in between our spare tire and our generator, even if I'm shaking this a bit, the most of them do is just go side to side. So it's coming nowhere close to that spare tire. I can get a whole hand width in between here, so that's about half a foot, so that's gonna be really nice.
The second main feature that I like about this is just how compact it becomes because this carrier can actually fold 180 degrees, so that shank is pressed against the carrier. And it can stand up by itself, and you can store it really easy in your Bronco as well. What I also like about the carrier is they give you plenty of points to mount your accessories or they use those straps to hold 'em down. So this is perfect for those generators or those more bulky items because if one spot doesn't work for you, you're not only gonna have this wall here, but even in front of the carrier as well. And then, we're gonna have plenty of tie-off points at the base of this too.
But when you are ready to take this off, just keep in mind this is gonna be pretty heavy in some cases because you're gonna have a max weight capacity of 150 pounds. So if your generator or item is pushing that capacity, then this will be quite a lift right here. (hardware clinking) This is a pretty hefty generator. It's nowhere near coming close to 150 pounds, but lifting it up from this height is gonna be a little bit difficult. So you might even need to grab a friend to help you out with this.
(generator thuds) But to give you an exact measurement of how high that lift is gonna be on the Bronco, that is above the sidewall here, that's gonna be about 25-1/2 inches. So remember that is gonna be a little bit of a lift. So if you have a friend and you have a heavier generator on here, make sure you get their help. Now, let's see how close we are to the ground. That's gonna be 23 inches, which isn't too bad.
It's probably gonna drop a little bit. Not to mention, this does kinda flex anyways since it is made out of aluminum. Notice you'll move a little bit inside the hitch tube just 'cause we don't have an anti-rattle device. If that is an issue for you, then I'd recommend checking out some of our anti-rattle collars. You can find those on our website. But like I was saying, this is probably gonna drop down a little bit with those heavier items on here, but you shouldn't make any ground contact. I also just wanna see how close we are to our tire exactly. Now, I said this is about roughly really about half a foot. And that exact measurement is gonna be about 6-1/2 inches, so that's about on par. But for how far it sticks out from that spare tire, that's gonna be about 30-1/2 inches. So really, that's not too bad. But to be fair, this carrier isn't really designed to be hauled around without any items in it. So if you do have a generator or something in here, that's fine. But when you're not hauling anything, it's really easy to fold up and put in your vehicle. And really, to demonstrate how easy it is, I'll just remove it real quick. So you'll just remove your clip and pin. Now, this kit won't come with one. You'll have to invest in one yourself. If you don't already own one, you can find one on our website too. Now, from this point, you're just really taking it out of that receiver. And this will work with your two-inch hitch receivers. (hardware clunks) So make sure you have one of those. And to really put this into the stowed position, we're gonna have this pin and clip at the very back of it. (pin clicks) You just remove that. And then, you're gonna fold the shank 180 degrees until it sits like this. You're gonna line it up with this hole. Push that pin back through there, so it doesn't fold back out on you. (hardware clinking) And then, secure it down. And what's really neat about this is it even stands up by itself. Now, as you can see, it does fold. This is not a tilt or fold feature for driving around. This is mainly just for storage. And then, from this point, really you can just store this in the back of your Bronco because the dimensions of this isn't very large. This is just gonna be 24 by 24 inches. And really, in my opinion, I think this is a great option for what I was talking about earlier. If you're looking for something that is gonna be pretty compact, (door slams) it's gonna be lightweight, easy to move around, and it's gonna work really nicely with your spare tire, I think this is a perfect option for you. Now, if you're looking for something else that works nicely with that spare tire, I think the etrailer cargo carrier is another great option. 'Cause what's nice about that is it's gonna have a higher weight capacity of 500 pounds, and it's gonna be a little bit over twice as wide too. So it's pretty big and bulky. But since it is big and bulky, it's really heavy to move too. You're probably gonna have two people to help you out. And then, trying to store it in your garage, let alone your vehicle, is gonna be pretty difficult sometimes. So that's where I think this really stands out. We're just carrying those additional items for your camping trips or wherever you're going. But that was just a look at the Mount-n-Lock cargo carrier on the back of our 2023 Ford Bronco. I'm Matt. Thanks for watching.
